What is Marriage Mediation?
Marriage Mediation is a marriage-saving intensive for couples who seek healing and restoration in their marriage. Couples no longer have to choose between counseling or divorce when their marriage is at a crossroad. Using biblically-based resources and mediation techniques mediation can help you experience hope, transformation, and restoration.
The Cost of Marriage Mediation vs. the Cost of Divorce
According to Forbes.com, the average cost of a divorce in New Jersey is about $8,123. Add to that the cost of maintaining two separate households and you can see that a divorce can create significant financial struggles. And that doesn’t include the emotional costs on the couple and any children that they may have. Divorce mediation typically ranges from $3,000 to $8,000. Clearly, the cost of dissoving a marriage is high, not just financially, but emotionally and spiritually!
The cost of a one-day marriage mediation intensive through Marriage Takes Three is $1,000, far below the costs of both a divorce and divorce mediation. And mediation provides a way of restoring a marriage rather than dissolving it, and helping to lead it back on the path of becoming the relationship you sought when you both said, “I do.”
NOTE: If a two-day mediation is needed, the cost is $1,500.
How Does a Mediation Work?
When a couple contacts us to inquire about a mediation, we will have them complete the mediation intake form.
Upon receipt of the intake form, the mediation process includes the steps below.
Step 1: 60-Minute Virtual Session
The mediation journey starts with an initial 60-minute virtual session, where we will introduce the couple to the process of mediation. Each spouse is given dedicated time to express and process their individual perspectives. The session concludes with personalized recommendations as to whether or not mediation is right for that couple.
Step 2: Pre-Mediation Assignments
If mediation is recommended, the couple is given pre-mediation assignments to complete before the date of the mediation intensive. The assignments include videos, a 21-Day Inner Healing Journey, and a letter each spouse writes to the other that will be shared as part of the intensive.
Step 3: Mediation Intensive
XO’s exclusive marriage mediation intensive approach provides immediate hope and transformation by combining biblically-based resources and mediation techniques for long term restoration. Whether in person or virtual, we will help you discover the heart of your relationship issues and pave the way for a stronger, brighter future together.
Your recommended length of intensive will be provided by your mediator during the 60-minute pre-mediation meeting to ensure enough time is allotted to address your needs. In some cases, we may recommend a 2-day mediation.
The cost of a 2-day mediation is $1,500.
